Managing Partner

Dan is a professional investor, operating partner, and manager with over 20 years of investing experience who has allocated capital in a wide range of markets and industries. Mr. McCLean spent seven years as a business development associate in private equity at XPV Water Partners, sourcing, evaluating, and closing several Fund II acquisitions. Obtained a niche and focused expertise of businesses that provide products and services to the water and wastewater industry in both industrial and municipal end-markets. In 2021, Dan took a significant step in his career by establishing Black Walnut Capital Management, a boutique investment firm focused on acquiring businesses in the infrastructure renewal and fluid management sectors. As an active partner, Dan plays a pivotal role in setting strategy, guiding management, and making capital investments, all aimed at ensuring profitable long-term growth. When he's not immersed in building Black Walnut Capital, Dan enjoys spending time with his family in Boston, where he resides with his wife and two children.

Mr. McCLean graduated from McGill University, where he majored in Economics and minored in Finance.
